Radioactive Leak Detected at Delhi Airport; Plugged, Says Home Minister Rajnath Singh

New Delhi:  A radioactive leak from a medicinal consignment was detected in the cargo area of the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi this morning. Home Minster Rajnath Singh said the leak has been contained.

Officials have emphasised that there is no need for panic. They said the consignment of sodium iodine from Turkey had leaked in a very small portion of the cargo area and was quickly isolated.


An anti-sabotage team of the National Disaster Response Force or NDRF are the spot, news agency PTI reported.
