Puli Teaser: Sridevi, Vijay and a Deadly Game of Thrones

The official teaser of director Chimbu Devan’s magnum opus Puli, starring Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Sridevi, Hansika Motwani and Shruti Haasan, was released on June 21 by Vijay himself on Twitter.

Set in the backdrop of a a kingdom at war, the 55-second long clip features Sridevi as a queen and Vijay and Sudip as warriors. Shruti Haasan, who plays Sridevis daughter makes a flickering appearnce, as does Hansika Motwani, who reportedly plays Vijay’s love interest in the film.

A fantasy film, with dollops of action and adventure, the plot of Puli is reportedly based on Russell Crowe’s The Gladiator.

Sridevi, who made her Bollywood comeback with 2012’s English Vinglish, will return to Tamil cinema after a gap of more than two decades in Puli.
