Pakistani Troops Target 12 Border Posts in Jammu and Kashmir, Indian Forces Retaliate

Akhnoor, Jammu and Kashmir:  Pakistani troops fired at 12 forward posts in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pargwal and Kanachak sectors along the International Border early this morning, prompting Indian soldiers to retaliate. This is the second ceasefire violation by Pakistan in less than 48 hours.

Firing is still on between both sides. The Pakistan Rangers used small arms and mortars. Personnel of the Border Security Force returned fire with equal intensity.

On Sunday night, Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing in four different sectors along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday night, resulting in a heavy exchange of fire with the Indian Army.

There have been 19 ceasefire violations along the India-Pakistan border in July in which four persons, including three jawans, were killed and 14 others were injured.
