PM Narendra Modi Addresses Nation in 'Mann ki Baat': Highlights

New Delhi:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi is addressing the nation through his monthly radio programme, Mann ki Baat.

Following are the highlights of his address:


  • PM begins ‘Mann ki Baat’, says he he glad to interact with the people once again.

  • Jan Dhan Yojana has completed one year. We achieved so much in remarkable time. Congratulate all officials and teams working on it

  • 17.74 lakh bank accounts opened by poor under Jan Dhan Yojana and Rs 22,000 crore deposited in them

  • The events of Gujarat have anguished the nation. People will feel shocked if this happens in land of Gandhi and Sardar Patel

  • In a very short time, people in Gujarat were able to control the violence that cropped up a few days back

  • Peace has again prevailed in Gujarat

  • I am happy to go to Bodh Gaya for a Buddhist conference

  • It is a matter of immense pleasure that I am getting an opportunity to visit Bodh Gaya in the company of Buddhist scholars

  • Every voice is important but the voice of the farmer is extremely significant

  • Government is open to any suggestion in the interest of farmers

  • Every voice is important to me but farmers voice is special to me

  • There are many rumors being spread about Land Acquisition Bill, farmers have been scared. We do not want that

  • Ready to amend land acquisition act to benefit farmers, who were subjected to misinformation leading to a lot of apprehension in their minds

  • Had the opportunity to meet scientists a few days ago. Our scientists are doing phenomenal work

  • The way some of our young scientists were speaking made me very happy. Urge all youngsters to take interest in science

  • I pay my tributes to all the war heroes of 1965 war

  • Tomorrow the land bill will lapse and I have agreed to it. Due to the problems the ordinances also have been affected

  • Government not to promulgate land ordinance, but to include 13 points to reform the land acquisition law to benefit farmers

  • For us, “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan” is not a mere slogan, but it is a Mantra for us for the welfare of villages, farmer and poor

  • This is a time of festivals. Lets link them with cleanliness and continue working towards a clean India

  • I meet a lot of youth who are cycling regularly. This is good for the health and the environment

  • Want to congratulate the Maharashtra Government. After a long time the issue of the Indu Mill land was resolved

  • Now the house where Dr Ambedkar stayed in London has been taken by the Government. I congratulate Maha Government
