Priyanka Chopra's Quantico: How the West Was Won. Olivia Pope Tweeted

It’s veni, vidi (but in the reverse) and vici. Priyanka Chopra and Quantico, the new American TV show she headlines, have come, been seen and conquered, a cursory glance through Twitter shows. In the last 18 hours, ever since the pilot episode of the ABC series premiered, tweets from East and West Coast-ers have flooded the micro-blogging site, several of them singling out Priyanka for praise.

Priyanka’s performance as Alex Parrish, an FBI recruit who finds herself labeled a co-conspirator in one the biggest terrorist attacks on American soil since 9/11, has been warmly welcomed in most reviews and also by some of the 33-year-old actress’ colleagues.

Among them was Kerry Washington, Olivia Pope from hit TV show Scandal with who Priyanka hung out at an ABC party in May. Kerry rooted for Priyanka on Twitter:

After the party in May, Priyanka told The Hollywood Reporter, “We practically ran toward each other. Can you believe we’ve never actually met? We’ve just had a virtual love fest over the phone and on Twitter. She congratulated me on Quantico, and I congratulated her on the success of Scandal. I’m a huge Olivia Pope fan, I binge watch the show when I’m getting into hair and makeup or on long-haul flights, so it was great to finally meet her in person. She was everything I expected her to be. Warm, funny, genuine and so gorgeous.”

Kerry’s Scandal co-star Bellamy Young also tweeted:

Singer Jay Sean patted Priyanka on the back for making ‘South Asians’ more prominent on the world map:

Actor Jay Thomas said:

The West has clearly been Chopra-fied. Next stop, Jimmy Kimmel Live, said Priyanka on Twitter while also thanking everyone who watched and ‘championed’ her:

Back home, her public will have to wait till next weekend to watch Quantico but Twitter’s already awash with Priyanka pride. Preity Zinta, who starred in Priyanka’s debut film The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, tweeted:

Sonakshi Sinha said it without words:

In its review of the first episode of Quantico, the New York Times review said: “The strongest human asset in Quantico is (Priyanka) Chopra, a Bollywood superstar and former Miss World who is immediately charismatic and commanding amid the otherwise generic ensemble. If there’s a problem with her casting, it’s that she may come across as too seasoned and assured to be persuasive as a shaky, neophyte recruit.” (Also Read: Review: Quantico Flips Between Jousting FBI Recruits and a Terrorist Attack)

The show also stars Jake McLaughlin, Aunjanue Ellis, Yasmine Al Masri, Johanna Braddy, Tate Ellington, Graham Rogers, Anabelle Acosta and Josh Hopkins in pivotal roles.
