Vistara and SpiceJet Indulge in Twitter Fistfight
The latest entrant into the Indian civil aviation airspace, Tata’s full-service airline Vistara, on Wednesday got involved with budget carrier SpiceJet – a 10-year veteran of the industry – in a friendly battle of wits and words on micro-blogging site Twitter.
Vistara used a phrase similar to SpiceJet’s tagline – “with all our heart” – in one of its promotional tweets on Tuesday.
Summer is the perfect time to travel to cooler places. Come, fly with us. Book now: http://t.co/iQlzvN5ijwpic.twitter.com/su1LojDgWB

SpiceJet soon spotted the tweet and had this to say in response.
We agree, @airvistara. But why not they fly the airline with the most Confuscianist tagline, With All Our Heart? https://t.co/O2dyAd6Sc5

On Wednesday morning, Vistara responded to SpiceJet and said this.
Confucius or not, it’s definitely for the love of travel that we are here https://t.co/NfUdg2FWII

Vistara is a joint venture between the Tata Group and Singapore Airlines and started operations in January this year. SpiceJet flew its first commercial flight in 2005 and completed a decade of flying last week.
Fare wars and friendly fistfights on social media aside, domestic airlines share a fair bit of bonhomie too. Domestic airline chiefs have time and again lauded each other’s performances and good work, publicly. (Read Story)
