Since yesterday, villagers on either side of the bridge have spent hours placing wooden logs on parts of the bridge to restore connectivity.
Three other suspension bridges in the area have also been washed away. The villages have asked the government to immediately start rebuilding these bridges, which are their lifeline.

Manipur’s capital Imphal has been cut off from Moreh on the Indo-Myanmar border and Jiribam on the Assam border, rescue teams are facing a tough time in carrying out operations in Chandel district, where on 20 people died in a landslide on Saturday.
The Chakpi and other rivers in Manipur are flowing well over the danger mark.
